Thank you for your interest in contacting AARS. This contact webpage may be used as a way for SJSU students to ask quick questions regarding GE requirements and other topics. If you are not yet a student at SJSU, please contact Student Outreach & Recruitment. Please see the below guidelines for asking an advising related question.
Acceptable Question Topics:
- General Education Reqirements and GE course choice
- Transfer credit questions from a CA community college or another California State University
- Where to find other college resources, policies and procedures
- Other general, short questions
Because we cannot verify it is actually you that e-mails us, we cannot help over e-mail with:
- Questions about your personal records, another student's personal records, or grades
- Lengthy, in depth questions
Other tips for using online advising:
- To protect your privacy, please do not give out your social security number online - your SJSU ID is OK to include in your communication.
- Recognize when an on-campus meeting with an advisor is necessary or would be helpful.
- Help your online advisor determine how to meet your needs by being as specific and direct as possible when asking your question, and provide relevant information such as your major or class level (ie. freshman).
- Allow at least two business days for a response. Try re-sending your message if you have not received an acknowledgement within three business days, or contact our office by phone.
- Keep copies of all e-mail correspondence.
