Academic Technology Units

Academic Success Center

The Academic Success Center (ASC) in Clark Hall is a 10,000 square foot facility dedicated to enhancing student learning and academic quality. As a key part of the university's Vision 2010 strategic initiative, the ASC is a nexus of student services and support designed to promote academic innovation and success.


Center for Faculty Development

The SJSU Center for Faculty Development (CFD) offers opportunities for professional development for all faculty. The Center's goal is to advance curriculum, pedagogy and technology to enhance instruction; encourage scholarly inquiry into college teaching and learning; and enhance faculty careers.


Information Technology Support Services (ITSS)

Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) is the primary central technical support resource for SJSU students, staff, and faculty for computing-related questions and problems.
ITSS is composed of Desktop Support and the University Help Desk which both assist users in troubleshooting problems with common desktop operating systems, with software/hardware conflicts, and with configuring and employing selected desktop software packages.


Media Production and Delivery

MP&D combines media production, distance education (the Academic Technology Network), and media delivery services, providing comprehensive support for media based instruction.



Media Services

Media Services maintains and checks-out media equipment, video library items, and assists with various university initiatives.


University Help Desk

The Help Desk is the first point of contact for information, service and support at San Jose State University.


Web Services Unit

The Web Services Unit maintains the University home page and top-level university Web pages. This unit also plays a prominent role in developing, contributing to and enforcing Web policies and standards on behalf of the Web Oversight Committee by working with various campus entities.


Wireless/Laptop Computing Project

San José State University’s Wireless Laptop Pilot Project is committed to creating a dynamic and collaborative educational environment that enhances teaching and learning, creativity, scholarship and global connectivity through a wireless laptop initiative
