Student Union Crane

Student Union

The Student Union expansion on the East and West wings opened for business a few months ago and the renovation of the original Student Union is well underway. We are currently in the demolition phase, transitioning into the project component, which is related to the improvement of its structural integrity. A large yellow crane will be placing steel beams into holes cut in the roof, all the way down to the basement level. These beams will ensure the building is structurally sound. Once the demolition and structural work is done, the actual renovations will begin, and we expect the project will be completed by Fall 2015.

Paseo de Cesar Chavez

Paseo de Cesar Chavez

The concrete work and the planting of palm trees has been completed on the east side of the paseo. The west side will be completed when the Student Health Center is complete. The project will result in a widened and beautiful campus mall, allowing clubs and student organizations to do tabling and conduct other events.

Art and Sweeney Courtyard Improvements

The courtyards at the Art building and Sweeney Hall are almost complete. The goal was to update and improve our outdoor gathering spaces for students, faculty and staff. Our wonderful climate should work well with the new spaces so that everyone can get together and enjoy the spaces.
