Facilities Development & Operations
2016 Summer Projects
The department of Maintenance and Operations will be working on many projects from now until school opens for the fall semester in August. Summer months give the work crews an opportunity to access buildings, offices, and classrooms to do repair, maintenance and updating. Below is a sampling of what will be done over the course of the summer 2016.
This summer the Dining Commons will be receiving an upgrade to include exterior paint and the installation of new exterior perimeter lighting. The interior will also receive an upgrade, including carpet removal and installation of laminated flooring, new interior paint and a lighting upgrade.
Yoshihiro Uchida Hall
In July the gym floor will be refinished with new game lines and logo replacement.
Faculty Office Building
This summer the Faculty Office Building is scheduled for new exterior paint.
South Campus - Visiting Team Room Renovation
The visiting team room will be seeing the installation of new sub flooring and Burke Rubber Flooring, installation of new faucets, partitions, and new interior paint.
Spartan Complex (SPX) - Pool

Construction Update from Planning Design & Construction
Campus Village, Phase 2
We are looking forward to Campus Village Phase 2 completion for this fall. The schedule is very tight and the actual date of occupancy will not be known for another few months. Housing has contingency plans in place to accommodate students if the move in date will be later than the beginning of the semester.
Dudley Moorhead Hall
Dudley Moorhead Hall (DMH) is being vacated at the end of this spring semester in preparation for the installation of air conditioning. The building will be under construction for the duration of the fall semester and will re-open in January 2017. The professors and departments that normally occupy DMH will be temporarily located in Clark Hall 140 and Modular Buildings A and B.
Major renovation for Science 142 is underway this summer. The impact will result in new audio/video teaching equipment and improved air flow.
Student Recreation and Aquatics Center
Student Recreation and Aquatic Center (SRAC) will be breaking ground over the summer upon completion of the Campus Village Housing project. The initial phase of the SRAC project will include the demolition of Royce and Hoover Hall. The utility upgrades for the SRAC project will also involve temporary exit detours out of the south garage, passenger loading/unloading changes and closures of our sidewalks. Signs will be posted for these temporary changes. Please view our construction site fencing map for continued updates.
