Central Plant Expansion Project
Utilities Maintenance and Operations at FD&O is in the process of upgrading the SJSU Chiller Plant to increase its capacity for the campus. The Central Plant Expansion Project will save over $900,000 in annual utility costs. Old machines will be replaced with two new highly efficient chillers, equipped with variable frequency drives and a more environmentally friendly refrigerant. The project also includes controls retrofit, systems commissioning and operator training. $1.2 million in incentive funding will be received in September 2012 through the Energy Efficiency Partnership with PG&E.

South Campus End Zone Project
The End Zone project is being proposed for the North End of the Spartan Stadium on South Campus. The new building will contain football operations, hospitality and event space. The estimated cost is $23M and will be donor funded. An architectural firm has been selected to start the Schematic Phase of the project, and ground breaking is contingent upon the success of fundraising efforts.

Spartan Complex Renovation
Preliminary Design drawings were completed and approved by the CSU Chancellor’s Office for the Spartan Complex Renovation and Seismic Upgrade project. Final construction documents for the project are being developed and ground breaking is scheduled for Spring of 2013.
