Outstanding Faculty

Karen A. Singmaster, chemistry professor and recipient of San José State's 2007-08 Outstanding Professor Award, offers unique and highly successful teaching techniques that attract students to her classes.

Jeanne Linsdell, recipient of the university's Outstanding Lecturer Award for 2007-08, is director of technical communications for the Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering, where she is known for her exceptional commitment to students and their learning, as well as contributions beyond teaching.

Marlene Turner, professor of organization and management in the College of Business, received the 2007-08 Distinguished Service Award for her efforts to boost the assessment of student learning within the college and her design of initiatives to promote faculty development.

Richard Tieszen, professor of philosophy and an international expert on the philosophy of mathematics, was awarded the 2007-08 President's Scholar Award for the quality of his scholarship and research on philosopher Edmund Husserl and logician Kurt Godel.
