College of Education

education studentThe Connie L. Lurie College of Education's faculty is promoting deep and meaningful change in P-16 education, making important contributions to the fields of communicative disorders and instructional technology, and preparing a strong cadre of educational counselors for our schools and clinics.

This year, 1,620 students completed credential requirements and 456 students earned master's degrees through the college. These educators will be teaching and leading schools in our local region and throughout the state, country and the world.

During the celebration of the university's sesquicentennial, Connie Lurie, long-time philanthropist to the university, graduate of the college and committed educator, chose to recognize her alma mater with a remarkable leadership gift of ten million dollars. We are honored to name the college after her. Lurie's contribution will help bring us to the next level of excellence and ensure that we continue to prepare high quality educators and educational leaders for the schools of the 21st century.

Together, we strive to realize our vision to be recognized locally, nationally and internationally as a center of excellence and equity in education, where faculty engage in collaborative scholarship, where authentic community- university partnerships thrive and where graduates are prepared to appreciate the opportunities and meet the challenges of our diverse community.
