The College of Science continues in its 85-year tradition of providing science and technology graduates who power Silicon Valley, enrolling over 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students this year. A model of global society, students of diverse backgrounds, including those first in their family to attend college, is a consistent theme of our current students and past alumni. We take pride in our accomplishments and strive for improvement.
Improvement and preservation of excellence in our students and faculty is a job beyond what California State University can provide. We are now state assisted, rather than state supported. In order to continue to educate promising students, attract stellar faculty and nurture a rich learning community, the college recently embraced "The Next Generation of Scientists," a comprehensive initiative to help us:
We have received generous contributions from alumni and emeritus faculty to support student scholarship, science education, and a donor-matched fund for a Center for STEM Education. The initiatives are many. Please support the "Next Generation of Scientists."
