January 13th, 2009 - Academic Standing from Fall 2008 (Probation)
Message Sent to: First Time and Continuting Undergraduate Students
You have been placed on probation or continued probation due to your academic performance
during the Fall 2008 semester. Please read the letter at the link below and see your
advisor with any questions. Academic Advising and Retention Services will schedule
workshops after the drop/add period and will post that schedule beginning February
3 on our probation website below. College of Science and College of Engineering students
should watch for future messages and contact the College Advising Center for more
information.
Please note that according to Academic Senate policy F96-11, "An undergraduate student on academic
probation is restricted to a course load no greater than 12 units." You are expected
to review your registration for Spring 2009 and make any appropriate changes to comply
with policy. We strongly encourage you to do so before registration closes at midnight
tonight 1/13 and in any case no later than the drop deadline of 2/3. This allows others
to take the seat in the class. Limiting yourself to 12 units also increases your chances
of success and the likelihood of improving your gpa.
