Capt Nicholas Carnovale Biography

In 2008, Captain Nicholas Carnovale received his B.S. in Business Management from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He received his commission as a Second Lieutenant from the Air Force Academy in 2008.
His first duty assignment was Vandenberg Air force Base, California at the 392d Training Squadron as a Space and Missile student. He then attended the Defense Acquisition University in Dayton, OH and completed the Fundamentals of Acquisition Management course. In 2009, he was assigned to the Global Positioning Systems Wing, Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA. There he served as an Acquisition Program Manager and procured the new Advanced Control Segment (OCX) for the Global Positioning System Constellation. After a 7 day try out he was selected to be one of the first Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Officers. In 2010, he was assigned to Detachment 3, 342 Training Squadron, Hurlburt Field, FL. In 2011, upon completion of the TACP training pipeline he was assigned to the 9th Air Support Operations Squadron, Fort Hood, TX. Captain Carnovale served as an Air Liaison Officer and Unit Deployment Manager.
Captain Carnovale deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Regional Command East in 2011. He served as an Air Liaison Officer, delivering air power to Task Force Bronco, 3rd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division; Task Force Bulldog, 3rd Brigade, 1st Armor Division and the 1st Cavalry Division.
Currently, Captain Carnovale is assigned as Recruiting Flight Commander at Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 045, San José State University, San José CA. Additionally, Captain Carnovale is an Aerospace Studies Instructor.
