About the Education Alumni Board
The purpose of the SJSU Lurie College of Education Alumni Board is to support current
students, faculty and staff. Each year, the Board provides faculty grants and student
scholarships. With a proud tradition of linking current, future, and past educators
at SJSU, the Board initiated an Honor A Teacher program, and conducts other community outreach.
The Board meets monthly during the academic year to plan and coordinate College of Education Board activities. More information on the Board and how you may join us for meetings can be obtained by calling (408) 924-3602, the Dean’s office or SJSU alumni website.

Beginning in 1998, The College of Education Board instituted an Honor A Teacher program, with the first honorees recognized at the dedication of the Schoolhouse at History San Jose.
Tucked into the northwest corner of History San Jose sits the One Room Schoolhouse. Santa Clara County elementary school students, while studying local history, use this authentic one-room schoolhouse on a regular basis. The College of Education Alumni Board raised funds to move the schoolhouse to History San Jose, renovate it, and dedicate it in 1998.
