Katherine Peterson Alumni Association Scholarship

About the Award

This scholarship is awarded on the basis of financial need, academic achievement and community service. This scholarship is endowed by the Keith and Katherine Peterson Charitable Remainder Trust, in honor of Katherine. Katherine Peterson received her baccalaureate degree in education from SJSU in 1951. She taught in the Sunnyvale school system for 20 years. She also established the history docent program in Sunnyvale. This project brings demonstrations and stories of early Sunnyvale to the classroom through guest speakers.

Nicole SiahNicole Siah

Nicole desires to become a nurse practitioner and obtain a position in a critical care unit. She has worked with a diverse population, including young and old, seeking to build the confidence and trust of her patients. As membership coordinator for the SJSU California Nursing Students Association, she has participated in health fairs and screenings. She's also part of the Public Health Nursing Club and plans health teaching activities for children of all ages.
