Spartan Success Series

Spartans, you are part of a dynamic campus community in the heart of one of the most innovative regions in the world! Take advantage of the Spartan Success Series, a student-alumni engagement program featuring an array of career development events providing students and alumni the opportunity to network with alumni experts. Through offering a combination of both on-campus and virtual workshops, panels, and resume review sessions, students and alumni learn to sharpen their skills, build their network, explore career pathways, and acquire a competitive edge to carry into the workforce.

Alumnus Frank Carbajal is passionate about seeing SJSU students succeed. Mentorship is key to success as it enriches our lives and accelerates our growth. At this workshop, you will hear Frank's inspiring life story and lessons from his personal and professional mentoring journey. You will also learn about SJSU's new online mentoring platform (SJSU2 Mentoring) which connects students and professionals around various career topics and interests. Don't miss this event! Frank Carbajal is Founder and President of EsTiempo and the Silicon Valley Latino Leadership Summit, and coauthor of Building the Latino Future: Success Stories for the Next Generation. An inspiring collection of success stories from the country’s most prominent Latinos, Building the Latino Future offers insight and advice for Latinos in any industry who want to succeed spectacularly. As a part of the Ken Blanchard network of keynote speakers and a former member of the Silicon Valley Coaching Federation, Frank Carbajal provides the framework and tools necessary for people to achieve their personal best. Frank holds an MA, with an emphasis in Human Resources Management, and a Bachelor's in Social Work. Currently, Frank sits on the Advocacy Board for the Silicon Valley Education Foundation.

Samuel Dwyer graduated San Jose State University in 2012 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Humanities/Humanistic Studies. He currently serves as a Financial Advsior with Morgan Stanley. Previously, Samuel served as an ESL teacher overseas in Budapest, Szerencs, and Hernadnemeti, Hungry.
