Spartan Success Series

Spartans, you are part of a dynamic campus community in the heart of one of the most innovative regions in the world! Take advantage of the Spartan Success Series, a student-alumni engagement program featuring an array of career development events providing students and alumni the opportunity to network with alumni experts. Through offering a combination of both on-campus and virtual workshops, panels, and resume review sessions, students and alumni learn to sharpen their skills, build their network, explore career pathways, and acquire a competitive edge to carry into the workforce.

Kick off the new school year with author and youth activist Tony Shavers III! Tony will motivate you to find worth in your journey and inspiration from your achievements and challenges. Learn to pave your own road for the life you want and make an impact today.

Tony Shavers III: Speaker. Writer. Youth activist. Philanthropist. Tony is a defining voice in finding success within identity. He recently published his first book, Is Your Dream Really Worth It? Discover Your Passion, Purpose, and Plan. Tony is the recipient of the Community Justice Award for his exceptional dedication to support children of incarcerated parents, and is the Founder of the Shavers Family Foundation Scholarship.

Michael Truong: Michael graduated from SJSU with degrees in Finance and MIS. His 20-year career in Silicon Valley took him from engineer to executive where he managed multi-million dollar infrastructures for large service providers that housed billions of dollars of customer assets. As a serial entrepreneur, he co-developed a software app, owns a digital chatbot agency, and helps entrepreneurs, executives, and students maximize the potential of their voices through storytelling with his coaching company Empower Voices.
