How do I log in into Canvas Account?

I have bookmarked the Canvas Log in Page (Shibboleth Log in Page) [https://idp01.sjsu.edu/idp/Authn/UserPassword] and I am accessing through that bookmark. I am unable to access my account.

I can’t see the course and its content. What should I do?

I am a first time user. I have my SJSU ID but I don’t have my password. Where should I set my password?

I have lost my password. Where should I reset it?

I am entering my SJSU credentials but I still can’t log in into the Canvas.

I am a new student and I am unable to access my account.

I want to attend the workshops which are organized by eCampus. Where should I enroll for that?

I need some more help. These questions doesn’t relate to my queries.

Q. How do I log in into Canvas Account?

A. Steps:

  • Go to http://sjsu.instructure.com.

  • A Shibboleth Login page will appear.

  • Enter your SJSU Credentials i.e. your SJSU 9-digit ID and your SJSU-One Password.

  • Click Login.

 Q. I have bookmarked the Canvas Login Page (Shibboleth Login Page) [https://idp01.sjsu.edu/idp/Authn/UserPassword] and I am accessing through that bookmark. I am unable to access my account.

A. The Canvas Login Page (Shibboleth Login Page) is an encrypted page. So, it won’t allow you to login and will give you an error like following.

If you want to bookmark the page, then you need to type in this URL: http://sjsu.instructure.com

This will allow you to access the login page of the Canvas.

Q. I can’t see the course and its content. What should I do?

A. It might be the case that your instructor wouldn’t have published the course. So, you need to contact the instructor.

After your instructor publishes the course and if you are enrolled in that course, you would be able to view and access the contents of the course.

Q. I am entering my SJSU credentials but I still can’t log in into the Canvas.

A. There might be a case that your password may have expired.

Passwords expire every 180 days. If your password expires, you can still able to log in into the SJSUOne Account Management using your current (expired) password and it will prompt you to change your password.

Q. I am a new student and I am unable to access my account.

A. Sometimes, the system takes up time to get in the new users updated.

Q. I want to attend the workshops which are organized by eCampus. Where should I enroll for that?

A. Steps:

  • Go to the eCampus Workshop and Events page.

  • Click on the workshop you want to attend.

  • Click on the red colored button stating Register.

  • It will open up an Event Registration Form asking you to enter your information.

  • Enter your information and click Next.

  • You will be sent a confirmation email with your registration details.
