sponsored or co-sponsored by the Beethoven Center and the American Beethoven Society

The Center hosts several concerts and lecture/recitals throughout the year. Artists have included such luminaries as the Juilliard String Quartet, pianists Richard Goode and Angela Hewitt, fortepianist Malcolm Bilson, and many others. Regular events include the annual Young Pianist's Beethoven Competition and the Beethoven Birthday Bash. The Center also presents two programs a year as part of the First Wednesdays Lecture Series. In addition to the tours and lectures conducted at the Center by the Director and Curator, the Director William Meredith frequently presents lectures to the public for outside organizations. The Center collaborates with the San Jose Chamber Music Society and other organizations in presenting Beethoven concerts, symposiums, and exhibits. We also provide the venue for the opera previews of performances by Opera San Jose.
