Performers for April 27:
Dennis Ngai is currently studying the Violin performance at San Jose State University. He started
learning to play the Violin at the age of five from his father. His teacher Antoine
van Dongen inspired him mostly, Li Lin and Wei He had a strong effect, just to name
a few. Currently, Dennis is studying with Dr. Sarah Jones at San Jose State University.
Dennis focuses on performance techniques and expression in teaching various levels
of students from Beginner to Advanced Levels.
Rosa Rezendes is the violist for the Boccherini Guitar Quintet and is a Senior at SJSU. She currently works as a violin instructor in SJSU’s String Project and is majoring in Music Ed. She lives in and commutes from Santa Cruz and loves coffee, dogs and chocolate. When she graduates, she wants to organize her own violin Suzuki studio.
Mana Isomine is a graduate student in piano performance at SJSU and is studying with Dr. Gwendolyn Mok. She received her BA/music from Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo. She is a piano technician, and she belongs to the Piano Technician Guild and worked for Bechstein dealership for years.
Hailing Wang is a sophomore in music performance at San Jose State University. She has been studying piano for 15 years and is now studying under Dr. Mok.
Performers for May 11:
Dongyi Zhuang is a first year graduate student at San Jose State University studying under Dr. Namiq Sultanov. She has been learning piano for more than 15 years and performed numerous solo, chamber, and ensemble works around the Bay Area.
Dr. Victoria DiMaggio Lington holds a BM and MM in piano performance from the University of Houston, Moores School of Music. At the age of 14, she was a soloist with the Mesa Symphony Orchestra. She has performed both solo and collaborative recitals in Eastern Europe and throughout the United States. She is currently on faculty as staff accompanist and lecturer at San Jose State University, and works with Opera San Jose as a rehearsal pianist.
