The Beethoven Journal
The Journal is an English-language periodical devoted to Beethoven and includes substantial essays, reviews of books and recordings, bibliographies of the latest books and dissertations, reports on the auction market, and much more.
The intended audience for this publication are the people who love Beethoven's music, who like to read about how his music has been understood and misunderstood in history, who are interested in keeping up with important Beethoven festivals and conferences, and who remain devoted to understanding his music in an ever richer manner.
The Beethoven Journal began publication in Spring 1986 as The Beethoven Newsletter. Beginning with Vol. 10 (Spring 1995), the title was changed to The Beethoven Journal. The Journal appears two times a year (formerly Spring and Fall; now Summer and Winter). Online access is currently available through the Proquest databases Periodicals Archive Online (back issues) and the International Index of Music Periodicals (recent issues).
