The Bridge Program is an excellent opportunity for students to have questions answered. Advisors are available on every level. Carefully selected peer advisors can share some of their own college experiences with students. Academic Services advisors are available to assist students in planning programs of study and with registration for the academic year. Financial Aid counselors are available to help students plan for the costs of college. Overall, the Bridge students have numerous opportunities to learn the nitty-gritty of the University from the Bridge staff and faculty.
The academic demands of the Bridge Program are rigorous, but rewarding. The academic program is designed to challenge students while assisting them to acquire the skills and study habits necessary for university success. Students can expect to work hard, but academic support is readily available and plentiful. Study groups, study skills enhancement seminars, and tutoring sessions are all important elements of the Bridge experience.
Bridge students can improve their learning skills through participation in specially designed courses. Integrated modules include: note taking skills, memory and concentration, time management, and test taking strategies. A computer-assisted learning center is also available for program students.
