Many students have questions about when they will receive their financial aid check. The best way to determine when your check will arrive is to check you account on MySJSU.

Financial aid funds are downloaded to San José State University on Wednesdays. By the end of the day, an entry will appear on your account with the amount(s) awarded. There may be more than one line item depending on how many types of awards you receive.

After all outstanding fees are paid, the balance will be disbursed to you via eRefund or paper check. Log on to MySJSU and then click on Self Service > Student Center > Online Payments, payment plans and account services > Refunds.

The refund will appear on your account as Financial Aid Disb and is the amount of the check that will be sent to you electronically or mailed to the address you have on file with the university. Once you see the disbursement line on your account, the funds will be credited to your bank account the next day. If you did not select eRefunds, the check will be processed and mailed in approximately two working days.
