Career Center Eligibility
Currently registered and matriculated San José State University students receive access to our services at no cost, as it is a student service included in your fees. The only fee that a student may incur is if a student wants to take a formal assessment, which are not automatically included in fee schedule.
Open University, SAL, and Professional Development Center Students
Campus community members may use our basic self-help services. This includes access to SJSU Handshake and online resources. This does not include career advising at this time. If you are not able to log in to the website, please contact us for assistance.
SJSU faculty and staff receive limited complimentary Center services. Contact us for processing information.
SJSU Alumni Members
SJSU Alumni may use our services for a $25 annual fee. This includes access to our basic services package, which does not include career counseling at this time.
SJSU Alumni Association Members, showing their current SJSU Alumni Association card as proof of membership, receive the same services at no cost. We do, however, need to confirm your Alumni Association membership and assign you a new member log-in for access to SJSU Handshake. You may provide your Alumni Association Information online, for faster processing.
Prospective Students & Parents
Check out our web site or come in to visit us! Incoming students are eligible to access our services for a limited time before the start of the semester once proof of SJSU admission is verified. A copy of your SJSU Admission Letter or class schedule may be used as proof of student status.
