On-Campus Interviewing FAQs
Due to extraordinary budgetary pressures on the State and resulting budget cuts to the CSU system, we have significantly reduced resources. We will continue to offer the use of our interview facilities to employers who wish to conduct on-campus interviews with our students; however, we are unable to offer the scheduling feature of the program. Employers will be responsible for scheduling interviews directly with our students. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
To reserve a room, please email Moira Kolasinski at Moira.Kolasinski@sjsu.edu
The typical interview schedule, unless otherwise arranged, begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m., allowing for twelve 30-minute interviews with morning, lunch and afternoon breaks. We request that you complete your interviewing and vacate the building by 5:00 pm. We appreciate your help in this regard.
It is the employer’s responsibility to honor scheduled interviews once students have been selected. If an emergency forces a last-minute cancellation or a need for rescheduling, employers should contact Moira Kolasinski at Moira.Kolasinski@sjsu.edu or 408.924.6029. It is the employer’s responsibility to contact the affected students.
Employers will post the job descriptions and interview requirements on SpartaJobs. Students must register in SpartaSystem in order to view jobs and submit resumes.
The earlier an employer posts a position on SpartaJobs, the more that position can be marketed to the students and recent graduates.
Please contact Julie Sedlemeyer at (408) 924-6024 or email@example.com for special arrangements or accommodations.
The closest parking garage is the North Parking Garage on the corner of 1oth St. and San Fernando Street. View a campus map. Parking is $8.00 per day in campus lots. Day permits may be purchased at the garage Pay-Stations and accept coins, $1, $5, and $10 bills as well as Visa/Master Cards. Please put your permit on your dashboard so that it is visible to our parking attendants. With over 28,000 students on campus, we urge you to allow extra time for parking.
Recruiters are asked to go to the Administration Building, room 154, upstairs to check in with an employer services staff member. Our staff can answer any questions you may have and will escort you to your interview room.
Students are told to go to the Career Center on the second floor of the Administration Building, room 154, and check in with a staff member. When you are ready for your interviewee, you can go to the interview waiting area and bring them to your designated interview room.
