  1. How do I use the web-based interview scheduler?

To set up an interview schedule or request an interview room using the web-based scheduler, log in to your SpartaJobs (powered by Handshake) account and select the "Request an Interview' button at the top of your Dashboard or 'Interviews' on the left navigation menu. For further help or basic FAQ, visit Handshake Support regarding Interview Schedules.

  2. How do I reserve a room for on-campus interviews?

To reserve a room, log in to your SpartaJobs (powered by Handshake) account and select the 'Request an Interview' button at the top of your Dashboard or 'Interviews' on the left navigation menu.

  3. What is a typical on-campus interview schedule?

The typical interview schedule, unless otherwise arranged, begins at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 4:00 p.m. We ask that you complete your interviews and debriefs and vacate the building no later than 5:00 pm. We appreciate your help in this regard.

  4. How do I cancel a room reservation?

It is the employer’s responsibility to honor scheduled interviews once students have been selected. If an emergency forces a last-minute cancellation or a need for rescheduling, it is the employer's responsibility to contact the affected students. To cancel your on-campus interviews, please notify Andrew Soliz at (408) 924-6042 or email andrew.soliz@sjsu.edu.

  5. How do students find out about the interview opportunities?

Employers will post the job and interview requirements on SpartaJobs. Students must log in to SpartaJobs in order to view the jobs, submit resumes, and select interview slots if applicable.

  6. When do I post my job descriptions?

The sooner you post your position on SpartaJobs, the sooner your position can be marketed to our students and recent graduates.

  7. Who do I contact if special arrangements or accommodations are needed?

Please contact Julie Sedlemeyer at (408) 924-6024 or email julie.sedlemeyer@sjsu.edu for special arrangements or accommodations.

  8. Where do I park, and how do I get a parking permit?

The closest parking garage is the North Parking Garage on the corner of 10th Street and San Fernando. View a campus map. Parking is $8.00 per day in campus lots. Day permits may be purchased at the garage Pay-Stations which accept coins, $1, $5, and $10 bills as well as Visa/Master Cards. Please place the permit on your dashboard so that it is visible to our parking attendants. With over 30,000 students on campus, we urge you to allow extra time for parking.

  9. Where do I go to check-in for my interviews?

Recruiters are asked to check in at the Career Center, located on the second floor of the Administration Building, Room 154/255. Our staff can answer any questions and will escort you to your interview room.

  10. Where are students instructed to go for interviews?

Students are instructed to check-in at the Career Center, located on the second floor of the Administration Building, Room 154/255. When you are ready for your interviewee, you may call them from the waiting area and take them to your designated interview room.
