Writing Supports

CARHS offers several different writing supports for AY 2012-2013.

The Writing ROOM

It can be difficult to find the space and time necessary for concentrated writing given the hectic pace and pressing demands of the academic year. The CARHS Writing Room provides a protected work space and time for making substantial progress on specific writing projects. Each week faculty members meet for two hours in the MLK library to focus on their writing. Groups and individuals are welcome to attend. ON-line Supportive  Writing Group

The Supportive Writing Group checks in virtually every week to provide support, feedback and accountability for members in the process of writing and publishing scholarly work. Most members are working on journal articles, but sometimes other writing projects are the focus, such as books, grants, or conference papers or presentations. Members commit to making incremental progress on their project over each week; goals are set and reviewed at each check-in. For more information, contact Lori Rodriguez (lori.rodriguez@sjsu.edu).
