About Us

The Center for Community Learning & Leadership (CCLL) works with faculty, students, and community organizations to implement community learning at SJSU. CCLL has programs to promote SJSU student involvement within San José and surrounding areas, teaching them to become active members of the community.
Given severe budget cuts to the CSU and increasing community needs, financial support is desperately needed for CCLL’s expanding roles and responsibilities in the metropolitan community. Please consider a contribution to our Tower Foundation that will directly support students and nonprofit community organizations – your donation is most appreciated!
Letter from the Director
Welcome to the San Jose State University, Center for Community Learning & Leadership (CCLL). Within the scope of High Impact Practices that promote student retention and graduation, CCLL supports faculty and students in service-learning, civic and community engagement, as well as community-based projects and research. As both curricular and extracurricular practices, CCLL establishes partnerships with numerous nonprofit and public organizations, city and county initiatives, and coalitions that bring diverse persons together for common cause. CCLL is a main avenue connecting the University and City in building a stronger, inclusive and holistic Silicon Valley. We invite you to join with us in leading this endeavor.
Sincerely,
Elena Klaw (Director of CCLL) & Michael Fallon (Co-Director of CCLL)
