Educational assessment is the process of documenting, usually in measurable terms, knowledge, skills, attitudes and beliefs. Assessment can focus on the individual learner, the learning community (class, workshop, or other organized group of learners), the institution, or the educational system as a whole. Assessment of community learning at both the national and institutional level is subject to the variations of academic disciplines and course learning outcomes.
Our Center is embarking on measuring the effects of service learning on student motivation, critical thinking, civic and academic engagement. Service-learning students may be asked to complete a pre and post survey after their service learning course. If you'd like to learn more about our assessment methodology, please e-mail us.
