Policy & RTP

A basic policy and procedure guides service-learning for effective pedagogy and risk management, and for reporting purposes. Community learning involves extra effort by faculty and as that endeavor builds community, enhances public relations, and draws funding; community learning should be recognized and valued in the RTP process.

Note: “service-learning” refers specifically to academic course-based pedagogy; an evolutions to “community learning” refers more generally to community engagement; these terms are used interchangeably, except when “service-learning” is explicitly defined.
