San Jose State University has been selected for the 2008 Community Engagement Classification in the category of Curricular Engagement and Outreach and Partnerships. SJSU's application documented excellent alignment among mission, culture, leadership, resources, and practices that support dynamic and noteworthy community engagement, and was able to respond to the classification framework with both descriptions and examples of exemplary institutionalized practices of community engagement. SJSU is one of 119 institutions that will now be added to the Community Engagement Classification completed in 2006, bringing the total to almost 200.
The Center for Community Learning & Leadership is proud to have been part of the Carnegie Application writing process by documenting all service-learning courses offered on campus, the number of service-learning hours completed by SJSU students, and the partnership the Center has maintained and cultivated through out the years with non-profits in the Bay Area.
We wouldn't have done it without the great effort and commitment from SJSU students, faculty members, and community partners! GO SERVICE-LEARNERS!!!

Every year, TSCC recognizes someone who has contributed to its programs. This year, CCLL Associate Director, Michael Fallon was recognized as one of TSCC’s educator supporters. CONGRATULATIONS, Michael!!!
