Digital Clubhouse Network

Using the power of digital technology to build a better community, DC involves service-learners mentoring HS students in history, education, creative writing, journalism, nursing and nutrition projects. It networks with History San Jose and History Channel on inter-generational digital storytelling. Offers opportunities to teach adults, peers and pre-teens in variety of mediums in the Digitally Abled Producers Project. Nursing and nutritional studies programs inform students through counseling about health issues.

IRS-VITA

Internal Revenue Service, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Student Volunteers needed. Receive training to assist low-income persons in completing their tax returns and applying for the earned income credit. Learn how to prepare basic tax returns and to file them electronically. Training classes are held annually during the month of January. Trained volunteers provide this free tax service during the months of February, March, and April. .

Junior Achievement of Silicon Valley & Monterey Bay, Inc. 

Utilize the Junior Achievement Elementary School Program to teach business, economics and workplace concepts through grade-specific themes and activities in local K6 classrooms at Carson, River Glen and Washington Schools. Time commitment is 1hr instruction and 1hr preparation/week for six weeks. Training and all materials provided. JA in a Day, a one full day version of the weekly program, is also available.

MOUSE Squad of California (MSCA)

Student Tech Leadership Program enables upper elementary,middle, and high school students to provide a service to their schools while they learn 21st century Information Technology (IT), customer service, communication, and leadership skills. Core elements of the program include online curriculum, hands-on activities, and student-run help desk where students put into practice what they have learned. Volunteers assist with curriculum,troubleshooting, and mentoring approximately one hour per week.
