Internal Revenue Service, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Student Volunteers needed. Receive training to assist low-income persons in completing their tax returns and applying for the earned income credit. Learn how to prepare basic tax returns and to file them electronically. Training classes are held annually during the month of January. Trained volunteers provide this free tax service during the months of February, March, and April. .

Utilize the Junior Achievement Elementary School Program to teach business, economics and workplace concepts through grade-specific themes and activities in local K6 classrooms at Carson, River Glen and Washington Schools. Time commitment is 1hr instruction and 1hr preparation/week for six weeks. Training and all materials provided. JA in a Day, a one full day version of the weekly program, is also available.
