NEXT STEPS IN COMMUNITY LEARNING
To maximize the value of your community learning:
- Understand what is community learning
- Assess your values, vision, your mission of service
- Seek a placement that meets course criteria and your interests
- Visit the agency website and/or location
- Attend the agency orientation
- Complete a Student Community Learning Plan
- Seek to serve, to experience, and to learn all that you can
- Reflect on your experience regularly (as part of course)
- Always sign in and out of the agency, and track your own hours too
- Bring proper closure to your service
- Request a letter of commendation for service well done
