Welcome to the exciting world of community learning -- real world education that makes a difference!
To maximize the value of your community learning:
Reflection is critical to community learning. The reflection process enables students to think critically about their educational experience and examine their service in greater context. Reflection should occur before, during and after service; reflection can happen through reading, writing, speaking, listening and acting upon service experiences.
Community learning, as community involvement, can lead students and faculty into civic engagement. Civic engagement is working to make a difference in the civic life of our community; developing the knowledge, skills, values and motivation to make a that difference; promoting quality of life through political and non-political processes.
