Dan Furtado, Pharm. D.
City of Campbell/CDM Executive Board

Dan Furtado is a native of Campbell, California, where he currently serves as Mayor and a member of the City Council. He completed his undergraduate work at San Jose State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Arts and Sciences. Subsequently, he attended the University of California, San Francisco, and received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1969. He also holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of San Francisco.

He has been a volunteer for the American Heart Association for over 25 years and has served on the Board of Directors and President of the Santa Clara County Chapter of the American Heart Association. In addition to serving as a spokesperson for the heart association, he teaches both basic and advanced cardiac life support.

Dan's full-time employment is with Stanford University School of Medicine, where he is Senior Lecturer in Medicine and Associate Director of the Primary Care Associate Program in the Division of Family & Community Medicine. He is a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and a graduate of the Army War College. He has been a member of the U.S. Army Reserve for over 37 years, and he is the Commander of the 5th Brigade, 104th Division.

He was elected to the Campbell City Council in March 1996, after having served as a member of the Civic Improvement Commission for over 10 years. He also served as Mayor in 1999. He was selected Citizen of the Year for the City of Campbell for the year 2000. His other appointments are as follows:
