Jim McMahon is a Senior Director and heads the Global Security Department at Applied Materials, Inc. located in Santa Clara California. Applied Materials (Nasdaq: AMAT), the largest supplier of products and services to the global semiconductor industry, is one of the world's leading information infrastructure providers. Applied Materials enables Information for Everyone(TM) by helping semiconductor manufacturers produce more powerful, portable and affordable chips.

In his role as Security Department head Jim leads a team of professionals charged with the protection of People, Intellectual Property, Information Systems Security and Asset protection at hundreds of sites in fourteen nations world wide. Jim also leads the Crisis Response Team and coordinates the formation of the Crisis Management Team in emergencies.

Prior to joining Applied Materials Jim provided consulting services to companies such at Apple Computer, Hewlett-Packard and others in IP protection and emergency response planning. As a police Sergeant for the San Jose Police Department Jim created the Child Exploitation Detail and lead the High Technology Crime unit chasing computer hackers and crackers world wide. He also helped develop a two day class for newly promoted supervisors at the Police Department in dealing with large scale crises and emergencies culminating in a four hour role playing drill using a scale model of the city to test the prior 12 hours of training. He is a past International President of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA) http://www.htcia.org/ and currently serves as Vice President of the International Electronic Security Group (IESG). He also serves as the Chairman of the City of Morgan Hill Personnel Board.
