John Rowden

John Rowden is the Manager of the Hazard Mitigation Section of the Governor's Office of Emergency Services. He is also the State Hazard Mitigation Officer. As such he is responsible for managing the federal Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, the Pre Disaster Mitigation Grant Program and the Flood Mitigation Assistance Program in California.

John has been with OES for a little over six years and has held his current position for four. John has been a manager for twenty three years in both the public and private sectors.

Prior to coming to work with OES, John worked as a project manager for Waste Management, Inc. and Contra Costa Waste Services, Inc. and as a program manager for the California Waste Management Board.

He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Environmental Planning and Management from the University of California, Davis.
