The California's Office of Emergency Services (OES) and The Collaborative for Disaster Mitigation (CDM) invite you to join us for the review for the premier west coast disaster mitigation conference. The fourth annual Disaster Resistant California (DRC) Conference will be held May 3-5, 2004, at the historic Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento, California. This unique conference series will continue its tradition of offering an exciting and highly dynamic exploration of disaster mitigation, planning, preparedness, response and recovery through plenary panels, workshops and professional development courses.
The DRC is designed to bring together emergency management professionals, local and state government representatives and private business partners to share ideas, technology and resources for the purpose of mitigating disasters. As in past conferences, DRC will strive to promote public/private partnership in an effort to reduce the vulnerability of individual communities to natural and human-caused disasters. In addition, the DRC will continue to highlight California hazard mitigation success stories and recognize those California communities who have made significant strides toward making their individual jurisdictions Disaster Resistant California Communities.
The conference will offer a variety of training and networking opportunities. This year program will include compelling cases from local, state and federal authorities and nationally known experts offering innovative solutions for today emergency management environment. The DRC will again welcome several international delegations for the purpose of sharing knowledge, experiences, ideas and innovations in emergency management with California communities and businesses.
Focusing on the importance of disaster resistant communities, the conference’s presentations, displays, and demonstrations will emphasize successful systems, technologies, and strategies to implement hazard mitigation measures and programs. As in the past, there will be a diverse representation of vendors and exhibitors from the public and private sectors on-site to answer questions and showcase the latest development in emergency products.
