International and Natonal Emergency Management Success Stories with Origins in California. Evidence of loss reduction and loss avoidance, due to successful mitigation implementation abound, but yet seldom noticed. The hazard mitigation methodologies developed in California have been successfully used not just within the State, but internationally as well. This has been possible due to international collaboration and information exchange at conferences like the DRC Conference series and other venues. A distinguised panel of speakers will present compelling evidence of the successful manner in which strategies and technologies from California have been used outside the State. Professor Loh from Taiwan will describe their current efforts in disaster reduction and the potential benefits to be derived from future collaboration between Taiwan and California.
