About the Course
Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course was opened in 1995 and was named after Bartley Cavanaugh, Sr. who was a very popular City Manager for over 16 years. Because the City of Sacramento wanted a regulation course to be built on only 91 acres of flat farmland that included only one tree a very creative architect like Perry O. Dye was required. The goal was to design a course that golfers of all skills could enjoy. Over a short period of time, the par 71 Bartley Cavanaugh Golf Course has become just that. It has matured into an extremely popular layout with its mounding, quick-growing trees, water holes and excellent conditioning. The #17, Par 3 signature hole, with its island green is only one of several interesting holes that requires careful tee to green shot making skills.
Bartley Cavanaugh has a beautiful clubhouse that sits on the levee of the Sacramento River with a view overlooking most of the golf course right in the middle of the little fishing town of Freeport. It has a very nice inside restaurant and a big outside patio area that includes a full bar and excellent menu serving breakfast, lunch and snacks. The course is very popular for tournaments, meetings, weddings, and special events. Rental clubs and power carts are available. JOIN US FOR A SUNSET CRUISE ABOARD THE SPIRIT OF SACRAMENTO
Included in your conference registration this year is a sunset cruise aboard the famed riverboat the Spirit of Sacramento. Join us as we set sail from historic Old Sacramento on a three hour adventure. Enjoy casino style gaming and collect tickets to win some of our fabulous raffle prizes. You will also be treated to a buffet dinner. A no-host bar will also be available. We will provide shuttle vans from the Hyatt Regency Hotel to Old Sacramento. Boarding is from 6:00-6:30pm so please plan your schedule accordingly.
Once aboard, we will travel along the Sacramento River. The Sacramento River wanders slowly toward the San Francisco Bay, creating as it meanders a watery world of islands and sloughs punctuated here and there by a town that looks to have been transplanted from the Deep South, circa 1950. We return to the dock at 9:30pm and again will provide shuttle vans back to the Hyatt Regency hotel for all of our riverboat cruise guests. Space is limited to the first 400 passengers, so be sure to get your registration in early and indicate you would like to attend in the special events section of the registration form.
