Emergency Management Acceditation Program

Click here for more information and registration on EMAP
THURSDAY-FRIDAY, May 19-20, 2005

The Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP) will offer assessor training on May 19-20 in Sacramento, Californiain conjunction with Disaster Resistant California. The training will prepare experienced emergency managers to serve as assessors as part of the accreditation process. Training will cover EMAP standards, assessment procedures, and assessor responsibilities and will conclude with an assessor examination. Those attending the training may be eligible to serve on assessor teams for state and local program assessments. There is no cost for the training for emergency managers currently employed by state/territorial, local or federal government; however, attendees must register in advance using the form available online. Funding is available to reimburse travel expenses for qualified public sector potential assessors, in accordance with EMAP policies.

Serving as an assessor is an excellent way to serve the public and the profession of emergency management while broadening one's knowledge of emergency management practices. If you have any questions or need more information, contact Nicole Ishmael at (859) 244-8242 or via e-mail at nishmael@csg.org.
