In our continuing effort to provide emergency services professionals with the best possible knowledge base, CDM and the City of San Jos?is hosting a three-part Lecture Series during the 2004 Calendar Year. The first series ?Essential Knowledge for Emergency Managers - began in February 2003; the second series ?Practical Knowledge for Emergency Managers ?was offered in Fall 2003; and the third series is offered in Spring 2004.

This lecture series is designed to provide you with the education, and continuing education, required for CEM (Certified Emergency Manager) certification through the International Association of Emergency Managers in conjunction with FEMA. CDM will keep track of the courses you attended for the purposes of either CEU (Continuing Education Units) certification or CEM certification, and at the end of the series, issue you a letter stating the number of contact hours you had. Official CEU Certification through San Jose State University costs an additional $60 per CEU or part thereof. For example, if you attend the first series of lectures for 20 hours you would earn 2 CEU’s at a cost of $120.
