When do I take the CBEST? Once you have been accepted
into the MA program, you must take the CBEST as soon as possible. To find
CBEST information, do an internet search with the test acronym. You will find the company, information and registration forms required for taking the test.
Is there a department application? No, we do not require a separate application. See the admission page for what items are to be sent to the department.
What is the letter of intent? The letter is to let the department know about you; your motivation
for wanting to be in the field of Speech Pathology. It can be the
same one as is on the university application, but submit it to the department separately.
What is the Recommendation Form, and where is
it? The form is for those professors who are writing letters of
recommendation for you. The department requires the use of this
form. The link to download the form is on the admissions page of this
website. Three letters of recommendation are required. Do not
send more than three; they will not be considered.
What is the last date to apply for the
current admission semester? February 15, 2008 for the Fall 2008 admission semester.
Please do not wait until the last date, the process may be
delayed and your application may not be able to be given full consideration.
What forms go to whom? The letter of intent and the recommendation forms come to
the department. You may combine your letter of intent and the
recommendation forms in one packet. The forms must be in sealed envelopes
with the recommender's signature across the seal. The mailing address is on
the recommendation form as well as on this website. ALL
transcripts
go to Admissions,
undergraduate or graduate, depending on whether you are applying to the B.A. or
M.A. program.
What program do I apply for on
csumentor? The application is a bit confusing.
Apply for the Master's program, not a credential program. Since the
credential is a Service Credential, it requires the M.A. to
be posted on your official transcript before that application can be
processed.
