Preschool Director's Message
Thank you for your interest in the San José State University Child Development Laboratory Preschool. Located on this website are an application form [pdf] | calendar and fee schedule [pdf] that you can download and print, the current , and the campus map. We follow the University calendar, which means that the children begin and end their school year at about the same times SJSU students are attending classes.
The Lab Preschool programs are located in two buildings. The toddler program (for two-year-olds) is Sweeney Hall room 117-O. The observation room is 117-J where parents and visitors are always welcome to go and watch the activity in the classroom when children are present. The toddler classes are in session from 9:00 to 11:00. There are morning and afternoon programs for three- through five-year-old children in the Central Classroom Building (CCB) room 118. The morning class is scheduled from 9:00-11:30, and the afternoon class runs from 12:30 to 3:00. The observation room for these classes is located in CCB 117. We ask that you not bring children on your visit to the observation rooms because neither is child proof.
For short visits a few parking places in twenty-minute zones are available for parking near to our facilities. We suggest that parents wishing to park longer use the garage near the corner of Seventh and San Carlos. There is a parking fee for visitors. Be sure to check the kiosks in the garage..
We invite you to observe our programs whenever you have time to visit San José State University. If you would like to enroll your child, please print out and complete the application form. I will contact you as soon as we have an opening. If you have additional questions, please call 408-924-3725 or email me at email@example.com.
