The Financial Aid and Scholarship Office provides quality educational  financing options, while delivering consistent, equitable, and timely services to student aid applicants at San José State University. In addition to federal and state funding, the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office connects students with campus scholarship opportunities and other off campus resources.

This program is geared towards students receiving financial aid grants. Students can get up to $60 towards textbooks!

Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarship

Sponsored by the Chicano/Latino Faculty and Staff Association (CLFSA) of San José State University, the annual scholarship was established to honor Dr. Galarza’s commitment to the Chicano/Latino community.  CLFSA provides scholarship awards, in collaboration with community organization and agencies, to assist students in their pursuit of higher education at San José State University.  Scholarships honor Dr. Galarza by addressing a barrier students face in their pursuit of higher education.

Chicana/Latina Foundation (CLF)

CLF is a non-profit organization which promotes professional and leadership development of Latinas. The Foundation’s mission is to empower Chicanas/Latinas through personal,  educational, and professional advancement. Each year the Chicana/Latina Foundation awards merit-based scholarships to Latina college students, valued at $1,500 dollars each.

The Dream.US

A national scholarship fund for immigrant youth who have received DACA, who want to obtain a college education and give back to their communities.  The Dream.US provides college scholarships to highly motivated DREAMers who want to get a college education but cannot afford it. The scholarships will help cover your tuition and fees for an associate’s or bachelor’s degree at designated colleges.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF)

Founded in 1975, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to Latino students, as well as related support services.  HSF seeks to give students all the tools they need to apply to college, do well in their course work, graduate, enter a profession, excel, help lead our nation going forward, and mentor the generations to come.
