Giving to Lucas College and Graduate School of Business

SJSU Tower Hall: Help build the future, by contributing today

For over 80 years the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San Jose State University (SJSU) has played an important role in developing business leaders. It may surprise you that our College currently provides the largest percentage of business professionals to our world-class Silicon Valley business community. More than ever, we need your support to continue this legacy.

In the last two years, the budget cuts to the CSU system have resulted in a reduction of about 15% in our classes. Importantly, the State General Fund contribution to the CSU system has now declined from an average of 3.5% (1998 to 2008) to 1.8% in 2009. The portion of SJSU's operating budget from student fees has risen from 35% in 2006 to 55% in 2009 while the State contribution has declined from 65% to 45%. Thus, for the first time, students now contribute more than the State.

Please join alumni and friends of the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business in supporting initiatives to provide more opportunities for our students and faculty. To ensure access to all, we must also provide increased scholarship support.

Some donors choose to augment their annual gifts with a large investment in the College, perhaps to establish an endowment. These gifts represent a crucial source of long term support. In recognition, many of these gifts may be named for the donor or someone the donor wishes to honor.
