Faculty Achievements
This page is dedicated to the distinguished faculty in the College of Business at San Jose State University. The following is a partial list of the many achievements, publications, lectures, and activities of our outstanding faculty.
- Isabelle Lescent-Giles is the recipient of the Junior Faculty Career Development Grant for AY2011-2012.
- Alaka Rao is the recipient of the Junior Faculty Career Development Grant AY2011-2012.
- Shu Zhou is the recipient of the Junior Faculty Career Development Grant AY2011-2012.
- Iris Quan is the recipient of the SJSU RSCA Funds Awar.
- Nancy DaSilva is the recipient of the Release Time Award for Student Success for Spring 2012.
- Themis Pantos received the Faculty Excellence in Advising Award from the California State Student Association (CSSA). Each year the CSSA recognizes, across the 23 CSU campuses, five individuals who have been particularly supportive and helpful to CSU students as they matriculate.
- Joyce Osland has been selected to receive the 2011 Academy of Management International Management Division Outstanding Educator Award.
- Taeho Park has received a grant to develop a quantitative Technology Valuation Model from the Korea Institute of Science & Technology Information. He will evaluate the current practices of technology valuation at organizations in Silicon Valley.
- Howard Combs was a keynote speaker at the International e-Learning Conference in Thailand sponsored by the Thailand Cyber University Project; and presented a paper at the International Conference on Asia Pacific Business Innovation and Technology Management in Indonesia.
- David Mease was selected as the Best College Professor in the US by ratemyprofessor.com
- Arvinder Loomba has been invited to present at the 2011 AACSB Sustainability Conference, entitled: "Teaching Sustainability in Business Schools".
- Oliver Yu recently arranged for two large cohorts, totaling 75 EMBA students, from Tsinghua University to be enrolled for a special 4-day global innovation training program at COB (Tsinghua has the reputation as the MIT of China).
- For the first time, 16 of our MBA-One students visited Leuphana University, Germany under Joyce Osland's leadership. Students listened to Leuphana's faculty as well as several high-level executives (such as the HR Director of Deutsche Telekom and Head of AutoUni, Volkswagen) and visited multiple companies including Volkswagen and Otto Group.
