Dear alumni and friends of the Lucas College & Graduate School of Business:
I am honored to serve as the new Interim Dean of the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business, continuing the wonderful work of Interim Dean Turner and Dean Steele. This is a great opportunity to set the stage for our incoming Dean. The search committee is hard at work and we expect a new Dean to join us in three to ten months. Many thanks to Marlene Turner for her great contributions and we wish her all the best in the coming months.
This Fall, the College welcomed almost 1500 new students as undergraduate business
majors. We continued traditions established in Fall 2013 to help students transition
smoothly into university life. Best among these is Launch Day where Freshmen spend a Saturday in engaging group activities to build their social
networks and team skills. At the end of the day, participating students go home with
their very own iPads!
Here is a video from a recent Launch Day. Quite an enjoyable way to launch our students’ to academic and career success!

LGSB Rated Top Program in the EMBA Consortium for Global Business Innovation
The Lucas Graduate School of Business recently conducted the International Module of the EMBA Consortium for Global Business Innovation from September 17th-23rd, 2016. The program exposed participants to a “Silicon Valley Experience for International Executives”. The thematic focus of the program, Entrepreneurship, Global Leadership, and Innovation, is a reflection of our faculty’s experience working with many of the innovative enterprises in the Silicon Valley. The cohort was made up of 28 EMBA students from the UK, Turkey, China, Italy, South Africa, Brazil, Florida, and Russia. It was successfully delivered by our faculty and staff with lectures, team exercises, company visits, cultural, and social events (see: a video summary of the week of events). The program received the highest overall rating (4.82/5) among the eight Consortium schools (average 4.43/5). Thanks to Associate Dean Stephen Kwan who was the Faculty Director and Program Coordinator Andreea Florea. Professors Joyce Osland, Anu Basu, Stephen Kwan, and Rich Okumoto were the instructors.
