MST scholarship award Innovation in the MST Program

In keeping with the other programs in the Lucas Graduate School, the acclaimed Masters degree in Taxation has made innovative changes to offer high quality, flexible, and affordable programs.  The MST program targets working tax professional as well as those seeking a career in tax with full-time or part-time options.  There is also an Advanced Certificate available for those who already have an MST degree. According to Annette Nellen, Director of the MST program, in talking to area CFO’s, professionals often need training in personal skills to build relationships with clients. Critical areas include time management, etiquette, developing personal relationships, building trust, etc.  New orientations and retreats focus on interpersonal skills to aid aspiring tax professionals.More information about our program can be found here

Dean's Corner

One of the areas that we pay close attention to is “student success”. The US has standardized on two key metrics of student success for all colleges and universities:

6th-year graduation for freshmen and  3rd year graduation for transfer students from community colleges. Our student success metrics are by far the best of all the colleges at SJSU – 19% better than the SJSU average in metric #1; and 38% better than the SJSU average in metric #2. One of the key reasons for our excellent student performance is the Student Success Center in our College, named after a beloved professor, Jack Holland.

We are very proud of our Center and the success of our students! We hope you enjoy this video featuring the JHSSC.
