Passport and Travel Documentation

To participate in the TGIP, you must have the following documents at the time you apply. This is required because we typically do not find out what the projects are until too late to start the process of getting these basic documents.

To apply, you must have:

US Citizens:
A valid US Passport with at least 6 months validity from when you expect to return from your trip. In other words, renew your passport when it has about a year left.

Citizens from other countries:
A valid passport from your home country with at least 6 months validity from when you expect to return from your trip. In other words, renew your passport when it has about a year left.

A valid green card or visa that will allow you to re-enter the US when you return from your travels.

DO NOT WAIT to get these documents: if time is tight, as it usually is, we may have to exclude you from consideration. You will need these documents regardless of where the projects take place.

In addition, a visa may be required to enter the country where your project is taking place. It is possible that visa requirements will prevent you from participating. This depends on where the project will be, where your passport is from and when we find out from Crown where the projects will be. We will help you apply for the appropriate visa if you are accepted into the program.
