Kathleen McConnell's research focuses on instructional communication and histories of instruction in communication. Her published work includes an essay on how cassette-tape enthusiasts taught each other recording and listening techniques and another essay on type-writing tutorials. A related interest in teaching technologies has led to her most recent work on artificial intelligence (AI) projects that promise computers that can learn. Her primary areas of expertise are communication pedagogy and rhetorical studies. Other areas of interest include critical cultural studies and critical race and gender studies. |

David Terry's work as a scholar, artist, and teacher reflects a broad interest in the relationship between performance and belonging. His published research has focused on performance of identity and performance of space/place. In 2005-2006 he co-created an award winning podcast with composer/designer/producer Michael Kraskin. Professor Terry is currently working on a performance and book project about global intersections in Greece. His primary area of expertise is performance studies. Other areas of interest include cultural studies, space and place, queer theory, modern Greek studies, ethnography, oral history, digital storytelling. |
