Preparing for an Advising Meeting

Undergraduate Students

Majors

To prepare for an advising meeting, bring your:

• Major Requirements and Plan (.doc)
• Degree Progress Report
• Unofficial transcripts
• List of questions for your advisor

If you're meeting with an advisor to complete the paperwork to file for graduation, bring your graduation application form (available on the Office of the Registrar's website) and your Major Plan. Also bring your completed minor form if needed.

Minors

To prepare for an advising meeting, bring your:

• Communication Studies Minor Worksheet (.doc)
• Degree Progress Report
• Unofficial transcripts
• List of questions for your advisor

If you're meeting with an advisor to complete the paperwork to file for graduation, bring the minor form available from the Communication Studies Department office (HGH 108).

Graduate Students

To prepare for an advising meeting, bring your:

• Graduate Student Checklist (.xls)
• Appropriate form (e.g., Plan A, Plan B1, Plan B2)
• Unofficial transcripts
• List of questions for your advisor
