The Bay Area Undergraduate Communication Research Conference is organized by University of San Francisco, San José State University, San Francisco State University, and Santa Clara University to promote and encourage undergraduate research in all areas of Communication Studies. This conference creates an opportunity for undergraduate students to present their research findings, network with students and professors from other universities, and gain a larger perspective regarding research and the Communication Studies discipline.
Submissions must be received by April 7, 2012.
All forms of research are welcome (i.e., quantitative research studies, qualitative research studies, critical or rhetorical analyses, ethnography, autoethnography). Research findings presented via performance are welcome as are multi-authored papers. E-mail papers (maximum 25 pages, excluding references and appendices) in a Word (.doc) format to Dr. Mindi Golden at mgolden@sfsu.edu. In the case of research presented via performance, please e-mail a performance title, two-page summary of the focus of the research, and a list of performers to Dr. Golden. In the case of multi-authored papers or multi-participant performances, please make the corresponding author/performer clear. Cover pages must also include the name and e-mail address of the faculty member supervising the submitted research.

Your paper should be a maximum of 25 pages in length, excluding references and appendices.
If a paper is co- or multi-authored, please make clear in your e-mail when submitting your paper who among the authors will attend the conference, and if your faculty mentor will be accompanying you.

There is a $25 per student and faculty member conference fee for participants. (Note to SJSU COMM students and faculty: The department will pay your fee.) Corresponding authors/performers will be notified that their submission has been received and paneled. Instructions for submitting conference fees will be included with notification.
Events on the conference day will run from 9 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. A conference schedule will be sent to all participants after the April 7 submission deadline.
