Information for Graduating Seniors

Applying for Graduation

You're close to graduation--congratulations! To help make the graduation progress more smoothly, follow these steps:

• Check the current Schedule of Classes for graduation paperwork deadlines.
• Pick up a Graduation application from the Student Services Center or download it from the Academic Forms section of the Registrar's office.
• Complete the form.
• Meet with an advisor for your minor, complete the minor form, and get the necessary signatures.
• Pick up a major form from the Communication Studies Department office, HGH 108.
• Meet with a communication studies advisor to complete the form. Bring a print out of your transcripts and your Degree Progress Report from mySJSU.
• Turn in your application, minor form (in a sealed envelope), and major form to the staff in the Communication Studies Department office (HGH 108).

Department Graduation Ceremony and SJSU Commencement

The Communication Studies Department hosts a graduation ceremony at the end of each Spring semester. COMM Club members plan, organize, and implement the ceremony. If you want to be a part of this process, contact the COMM Club.

The SJSU Commencement is held on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend in the morning.
